Premium Dried Peony Root
Our peony roots are sourced from standardized medicinal planting bases in Anhui, Zhejiang and Sichuan, the renowned genuine producing areas of white peony root. Fresh roots are harvested in summer and autumn, cleaned, trimmed to remove fibrous roots, boiled and peeled before low-temperature drying under strict TCM processing standards.
Finished peony root is cylindrical, straight or slightly curved, 5–18cm in length, 1–2.5cm in diameter. The surface is off-white or pale reddish brown, with fine longitudinal wrinkles and tiny root scars; texture solid and heavy, hard to break. Cross-section is pale white with distinct cambium ring and radial striped texture. Faint odor, mild bitter and sour taste. No mildew, hollow cracks, worm-eaten holes, rotten fragments, bleaching or sulfur fumigation. Rich in paeoniflorin, albiflorin, amino acids and flavonoids, widely applied in traditional Chinese medicine to nourish blood, regulate menstruation, soothe liver pain, astringe sweat and calm liver yang.
