Premium Dried Stiff Silkworm (Bombyx Batryticatus)
Botanical Source: Larvae of Bombyx mori L. infected and killed by Beauveria bassiana, dried whole worm
Our stiff silkworms are cultivated in standardized silkworm breeding bases in Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Sichuan. Naturally infected silkworm larvae are cleaned, dehydrated with lime and low-temperature dried under strict medicinal processing standards.
The finished silkworms are cylindrical, twisted and wrinkled, 2–5cm long. Surface greyish yellow fully covered with white powdery hyphae and spores; 8 pairs of clear feet, distinct body segments, forked tail. Hard & crisp texture, flat cross-section with 4 brown silk gland rings, slight fishy odor and faint salty taste. No mildew, no rot, no worm-eaten bodies, no sand, bleaching or sulfur fumigation. Rich in amino acids, beauvericin, polysaccharides and trace minerals, recorded in Chinese Pharmacopoeia for extinguishing wind, relieving convulsions, dispelling phlegm and dissipating nodules.
